Roommate Finder
HGA members interested in finding a roommate for the 2026 Convergence conference should fill out the application form linked below. Your contact information will be added to the Roommate Finder list within two business days. You must be registered to attend Convergence to complete the form. This list is accessible only by people on the list.
How it Works
Once you have been added to the list and received your confirmation email, you will be able to access the list and contact other member attendees looking for roommates. The two (or more) of you will need to make arrangements for housing on your own, including dates, location, and how to split the bill. To assist with selecting a roommate and making lodging arrangements, users may wish to discuss the following questions with potential roommates:
- Do you snore?
- Do you smoke or do you require a non-smoking room?
- Do you go to bed early or stay up late?
- Do you have any special needs?
- Who will make reservations with the hotel? What type of room will you choose?
- Will the cost of the room be divided evenly among each guest?
- Who will confirm billing arrangements with the hotel?
- Who will provide a credit card upon checking in?
- Will you block incidentals from the room, requiring cash payment for room service and other hotel services?
As this list does not provide a comprehensive set of questions addressing every aspect of shared lodging, users are responsible for considering questions that address concerns specific to each individual. Please keep in mind that HGA is not responsible for addressing these issues or making sure that any arrangements resulting from the use of this form are adhered to.

Please keep in mind the following as you use this service:
- The purpose of this service is to establish roommate arrangements for the 2026 Convergence Conference.
- HGA accepts no liability for the use of this site or this service.
- Attendees who sign up for this service will be able to access a list of other attendees who are looking for a roommate for the conference. You will be notified via email when you are added to the list and how to access it.
- After you have found and confirmed a roommate, please email us with your request to be removed from the list.
Roommate Finder Service Disclaimer
The Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. (HGA) is providing the Roommate Finder Service for the benefit of its conference attendees. It is understood that any information distributed within the Roommate Finder Service will not be checked for accuracy, and participants must use individual discretion and accept sole responsibility for their use of the service. HGA expressly disclaims any responsibility for, and any and all liabilities resulting from, any information or communication exchanged between users of the Roommate Finder Service.
HGA is not responsible for screening or selecting roommates and is not involved in financial arrangements between roommates or between roommates and the hotel. HGA makes no guarantees of any kind about roommate compatibility, trustworthiness, security, safety, or any dispute that may arise between roommates. Persons who reserve and occupy rooms at the hotel are financially obligated to pay for those rooms regardless of whether or not a roommate agrees to share expenses. Please remember that signing up as a roommate creates an obligation to the person with whom you share a room. If you cancel your reservation at the last minute, or if you "no-show", you will be obligated to settle any financial agreements you entered into.
Users are warned that they may be individually liable for anything they communicate using the Roommate Finder Service, including but not limited to defamatory, discriminatory, or false or unauthorized information. Users are cautioned that they are responsible for complying with the requirements of applicable laws, statutes, and regulations, including copyright and trademark laws and regulations. Any commercial use or other solicitation is strictly prohibited.
By subscribing to the Roommate Finder Service, users agree to indemnify and hold harmless HGA, its officers, directors, agents, and employees from any and all liability and expense arising from or related in any way to this service and to any information within it, regardless of the cause or effects, or of any fault of any third party.
All users of the service accept full risk and responsibility for any injury or loss they may incur as a result of participation in the service. Users also agree to hold HGA harmless from responsibility or liability for any injury or loss suffered by a user resulting from the user’s participation in the service.
