Membership
The Handweavers Guild of America, Inc.’s (HGA) mission is to educate, support and inspire the fiber art community. We provide inspiration, instruction, and networking opportunities for fiber artists of all skill levels. HGA has a variety of Membership types to fit the unique needs of our members. Benefits vary by type.
Individuals
Memberships are available in 1-year and 2-year terms (except Student which is only available as a 1-year term). Individual and Household Members can save 21% by purchasing a 2-year membership. These memberships include a subscription to HGA's quarterly, printed and mailed, magazine, Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot. For those who would like to "Go Green", we also offer the choice of only receiving digital access to the magazine. Individual Membership Types include:
- Individual Memberships - For all Fiber Art Enthusiasts
- Household Memberships - This membership type allows you to add two additional persons in your household to your membership. The household will receive 1 copy of Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot.
- Professional Artist Memberships - For the Professional Artist who wants to market their services, this membership includes all the benefits of an Individual membership and more.
- Student Memberships - A discounted membership for students enrolled in a college or university. **Proof of status must include school name, student name, and current course enrollment with credit hour details. Documentation should confirm that you meet the Student requirements: enrolled in a degree program and taking at least six credit hours (undergraduate degree) or three credit hours (graduate degree) per semester or comparable credits in a quarter system.

Organizations
Memberships are available in 1-year and 2-year terms. Organizations will save 8%-12% by purchasing a 2-year membership. These memberships have benefits that are designed to meet the specific needs of an organization. Organization Membership Types include:
- Professional Organization Memberships - For Professional Organizations who want to market their merchandise, programs, and services while showing their support for the fiber art community.
- Affiliate Guild Memberships - For artist guilds serving the needs of their local community.

Memberships are non-refundable. Students will need to provide proof of student status.
*Benefits are subject to change. Household memberships are limited to three people in one family living under the same roof and receive one subscription to Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot.
**Student proof of status must include school name, student name, and current course enrollment with credit hour details.
You may provide one of the following types of documentation as proof of status:
- Official or unofficial transcript
- Letter from advisor (signed and recently dated)
- Letter from registrar (signed and recently dated)
- Third-Party Enrollment Certificate (must include current semester dates and a minimum of half-time student stats)
(A student ID or tuition receipt does not qualify as acceptable proof of student status.)
Documentation should confirm that you meet the Student requirements:
- Enrolled in a degree program.
- Taking at least six credit hours (undergraduate degree) or three credit hours (graduate degree) per semester or comparable credits in a quarter system.
